I’m a casual fan, but when your most talented player (Haley) is wildly inconsistent, you lose to teams a notch below you in overall talent.

Less sure about this next statement, but I don’t think there’s ever been a coach (team sports) who was better at 70 than 60.

Women’s Sweet 16 without 2 top seeds: A sign of parity, flawed teams or both? - The Athletic

Article on Stanford and Indiana losing and the reasons why.  For Stanford as what many have said here on The CardBoard the reasons were lack of outside shooting, guard play and the insistence of forcing the ball inside.

The article also goes into the season in general as to why this Stanford team was not as strong a previous teams.

I'm no basketball guru, but don't the first two force the last?

Just a thought on this "few thoughts" -- seems to me that the thread title should be adjusted to "WBB: A few thoughts" to make it clear that it's not about virtually anything

Hard to tell when one of the best offensive options in D1 ball is your center.

So on next topic - do we think Hannah would be in 3 pt shooting contrast at men’s FF?

One additional item that was discussed was Stanford's lack creating steals, which allowed the other teams to have more shot attempts and more attempts of securing offensive rebounds and reduce the opportunities for Stanford to score fast break points.

Could be. It would likely make a difference if she had to use a men's ball, since that's not what she's spent zillions of hours practicing with, but I imagine she'd do rather well anyway.
