I only saw last 5 mins, but Spencer Jones won that game for Stanford.

The FT shooting is just piss poor every time I watch.  DeLaire was the only guy I saw make two in a row.

Keefe shot an AIR BALL from the FT line!!!

He needs to do as the Chef does with treys: shoot 100 or more a day until he reaches 60% made of the last 50. Seriously. air ball from the FT line? Why aren't the coaches forcing him to adopt a smoother form? As he is, he's a permanent debit in crunch time.

Keefe's form reminds me of:

Can anyone guess who that is (without seeing his name in the parens in the title)?

I’m glad your gut won out over mine!

Delaire only played something like three of the last six minutes, which was a real headscratcher for me. Zero fouls, so that wasn't it.

But Stanford beat a team that's actually got a pretty good chance to make the Big Dance, so I will give Haase some credit for the team win.

It’s a win. It wasn’t at home. And Wyoming is a quad 1 team (top 50 in a neutral environment).

Keefe was a real trooper having the worst job of the day in trying to battle Ike who didn’t look like he played clean. Got a standing O for his efforts when he fouled out. Jones had the second toughest job and did just more than enough against Maldonado while showing his non-trey abilities. They were all studly.

Delaire seemed to be struggling on defense.  They had him on Maldonado for most of the game, and Delaire just couldn't keep up.  Very odd decision by Haase because Delaire should not be guarding smaller, quicker guys.

The only thing I have to add on yesterday is that the improvement in Spencer Jones' game since his freshman year is remarkable.  He came in as a catch-and-shoot 3-point shooter (a good one), and really not much else.  And now he is driving, defending at a high level, and playing much better overall.  I've seen some criticisms here that Haase's players don't improve.  I disagree, and Jones is a good example of what I'm talking about.  Keefe fits, too. FWIW, I'm still in the "time to move on from Haase" camp, but it's not because his players don't improve individually.  My beefs with Haase are all about team play (or lack thereof).

Agreed. I was confused as to why he was matched with Maldonado. I understand pulling someone b/c they're struggling on defense, but it seemed more of a matchup issue. I'm often scratching my head at Haase's lineups. I was drooling when Ike got foul number four and was taken out, but then the team went cold and Wyoming started scoring more efficiently than they were with Ike in -- Haase's rotation played a big role in that.

The last few years it feels as if his teams have started off strongly enough, only to taper off into oblivion. I'm hoping the opposite pattern will take effect this season. Bottom line, though, if Haase doesn't get this team to the Big Dance, he should be looking for a new job.

Nice observation.

We are a turnover machine so far against Liberty. Trailing 28-18 with 4 minutes to go in the half.

Come on! What do you expect against the likes of Duke, Gonzaga, Michigan, and.....Liberty?

I really don't understand Haase's substitutions.

Does he?

16-6 run to end the half ties it up at 36. Much better play, but turnovers are keeping this game close.

Liberty has one good player, and he may single-handedly beat us.  Would kill for a coach that can devise good schemes for this sort of situation.

Also these officials are the ***** worst.

What a comedy of errors... I mean, fouls. Refs need to relax.

Even the announcers commented that second half was being called differently. Very bad.

7-0 run has us ahead 67-59 with a little less than 5 minutes to go. Let's close this out strong.

Why do refs hate O’Keefe?
