Not long now until game summaries are written by AI bots.

Will they throw in misspellings and grammar mistakes so we won't be able to distinguish the AIticles from the human-generated articles?

All the stories about Helton's firing say "after the loss to Stanford." So the whole world now knows...

The AI is trained with human writing samples, so probably.

So why the hell should the San Francisco Chronicle, in an era when media business models are based solely on clicks, devote their eroding resources to cover a college football team so that we old and dying fartz can savor a rare win? I'm serious. The Bay Area obsession with the Niners, Giants and Warriors put college football in the toilet years ago. The LA friggen Times has always done a better job of covering Stanford, esp. when the opponent is SC or UCLA. Another post cited the superiority of ESPN and The Athletic. Astute. I've known guys on the staff. They shake their heads and agree with me.
You must have missed the part where I said “part of it is general area disinterest.”

This is already happening with GameChanger, which is used by a lot of youth sports teams.

Yeah, when my son's Little League team was in the playoffs, I used the app GameChanger to score the games and "broadcast" them to parents who couldn't attend.
I was honestly really impressed and a little bit scared at how good its AI-generated game recaps were.
