McKee looks better but not good he's missed two throws to Yurosek badly
And now a false start on a punt???? FFS that's embarrassing

Good to see Phogge back with his salty commentary.
What a pathetic third down and 17 play.

Only bad thing about it was the off target throw

Would-be receiver surrounded by about 5 defenders. No problem.

Per announcers, "Everything is easy for K State and a grind for Stanford."
Geaux Cardinal!

Exactly. The receiver had room. The throw just had to be sort of there. It wasn't. The trailing defender was a problem, but not that big a problem. The receiver expected the ball to be to the side it was on, just not so wide he couldn't reach it.

They were playing zone. Every receiver will look surrounded but there are open spots. It's up to the receivers to find the seams and the QB to hit them
Meanwhile. The defense looks awful

Let's generalize: the team looks awful -- except for Kelly and Booker. This could be a blowout unless there's a major turnabout.

Stanford dials up a blitz and K State calls the perfect play. Stanford offense la Ms creativity. Probably because the QB’s are limited in experience and maybe because they aren’t very good.

When I saw that defensive lineup I knew that play could go all the way.
Who called that horrible scheme?

We look far worse than I thought we would (and I didn't think we would look bad). We struggle to move the ball and their quick players are hurting us. We don't look good on defense at all.
We need to score before halftime.

Both QBs have accuracy problems.

There's not a doubt in my mind: McKee is the better option. West flings the ball and doesn't step into the throw. How about 20-0 at half?
RE: K-State game thread -
Goose - 09-04-2021
If Stanford can't reliably run the ball, we are basically doomed. That was supposed to be "what we are about" this year. Right now, we can't, and behind by 14 we aren't really trying to do so. That isn't going to work. While the QB play isn't good, the lack of a run game is worse and more unexpected IMHO.

McKee seems to have the potential to be more dangerous than West. Neither has looked close to good, but McKee appears to have more skill to get there sooner.
