I didn't know until the week "Rumours" came out. I was 14. My grandmother said "Did you know you were related to someone in a rock band?" l was half-listening, expecting it to be some garage band no one had ever heard of. She said "Yes, have you ever heard of Fleetwood Mac? They're supposed to be pretty good." I think I literally fell out of my chair.
Buckingham's a local, born in Palo Alto, went to M-A, then SJSU. He was a swimmer, from a family of swimmers. His brother Greg swam for Stanford and won a silver medal in the 200 IM in Mexico.
