Fisher wins
Radcliffe 4th
Both to Austin
Ostberg the top non qualifier although time wise ran faster than anyone in the other race
That’s 14 to Austin
Putting all of 5000 meter guys in the same heat against that group of competitors seems almost a bit unfair. Congrats to the women for having 10 qualifiers. Hard to find many bright spots for the men outside of the fact the the 4 qualifiers could score points. Not a good year for the men. Many kudos to the women who ran lifetime bests to make the field.

The only potential point scorer we lost was men’s javelin thrower Christensen
Just a season review:
Women who placed In all time Top 10:
13
For the men: 3
Sums up what GK said
Lots of injuries and redshirts with the men. Hope for health next season. And since some were distance runners for Cross country
On to Austin

Yes Williams is now 2nd at the end of the day. Season Bests or near bests in all events. 4345 leads Williams 4266 and then 3rd 4216. The great USC athlete no heights in the HJ.
Fahy the top qualifier in the SC.
This is it for today. Tomorrow Williams continues and the women take the track
RE: Track & Field -
BobK - 06-06-2019
Williams with a HH time of 14.55. Disappointing by about .3. Now 100 points back, still in 2nd and
200 points ahead of 3rd. The former 3rd placer didn't finish the HH race.
RE: Track & Field -
BobK - 06-06-2019
Right now a weather delay but Decathlon discus soon.
RE: Track & Field -

Javelin for the women postponed until about 12:30 today due to weather
Donaghu and Lawson near their 2 week old life time bests to both qualify for the 1500 final
McNulty with a great race just out of the scoring at 10th in the 10K
Merritt didn’t make the PV final

15 points for the women
Little wins the Javelin 195-0
Gray 4th 179-9
RE: Track & Field -
BobK - 06-07-2019
Stephen Fahy WINS the steeplechase
8:38
He was right behind the leader when the guy in first fell on the water jump. Fahy way ahead and clips the last hurdle to fall get up and sprint to the victory
Stanford tied for 4th now. Great to see our name up there.
We only have the 5K left
Yes old Dwight Stones called it for another runner even though Fahy was 15 meters ahead at the tape.
Fahy in his interview announced he has applied for another year for XC.
Holloway of Florida 12.98 to win the HHs
Breaks the 40 year old record set by Renaldo Neamiah
RE: Track & Field -
BobK - 06-07-2019
Fisher and Radcliffe 2-3 in the 5K.
14 points 32 total
RE: Track & Field -
Farm93 - 06-07-2019
32 points on the men's side. Now sitting in 5th place with an event to go.
However, those in the 23-31 point range are not in the 4X400 final, so that should mean a 5th place finish. South Carolina can tie for 5th with a 4X400 win.
Either way, 32 points and 5th place! That's pretty amazing for 4 guys.
RE: Track & Field -
BobK - 06-07-2019
Just incredible. Yes 32 for 5th 1/2 point from 4th

The women's place won't last long.
Stanford women will be lucky to finish in the top 5.
USC will be unlucky if they don't win. They have loads of top qualifiers in almost all of the sprint finals. They should win by 20 or more points.
RE: Track & Field -

I don’t know anyone who expects our women to be top 5. But 6-7 would be excellent.
The thrill is simply seeing our school name at the top of the leader board :)

I'm afraid those Razorbacks are going to make it a bit closer than people realize. They have runners tucked away that can possibly score at the bottom end that could add up. We'll see.
Applause to the Card program, where else can a team finish 8th in conference and a few weeks later finish 5th at nationals. Reminds me of a time last decade where the UCLA women swim team finished 300 points ahead of Stanford at the conference meet and Stanford reversed it a few weeks later and finished 300 points ahead of the Bruins at the NCAA's. Quality and quantity.
I just wished we had a few more qualifiers in there to stir the pot. This senior class will be tough to replace.

Donaghu 4:13 is 6th in the 1500.
Lawson not top 8 as she was10th
Salone not top 8 in the discus
Reichenbach goes out after clearing a near PR 5-10.
O’Keeffe in the 5K our last athlete
