Completely agree. Utah just utterly embarrassed the conference with that performance in the second half.

Of course, I bet both Pitt and Oregon wish they had their game against us back.

Seemed like Stanford scored on two walks, three errors, a balk, two sac flies and a catchers interference.

More evidence that the Northwestern game will be tough next year.    Fitzgerald drvelops his players well and they never quit

Has anybody paid much attention to how much Northwestern loses, besides their quarterback?

Utah/Northwestern was not unlike our game with Oregon this year.
The Utes were up 20-10 and seemed ready to increase their lead to 27-10 when they fumble the ball and NW picks it up and goes 85 yards for a TD. That turned it around.
Not sure whether it was NW never quitting or Utah self destructing in that one. The Utes had six turnovers.

I agree Fitzgerald is a good coach, but I would not say this game really showed that. They were getting beat pretty bad until the Utah QB became a turnover machine. If Utah had "turtled" a bit more efficiently, especially in that weather, Northwestern loses. Northwestern's defense took advantage of some really bad play by Utah to win the game. Absent that horrible play by Utah, it is a different story

Utah took itself out of the game with six turnovers (-5 margin). It reminded me in some ways of our loss to Utah this year, when we turned it over 4 times (-4 margin). It's just too hard to overcome that.

So true. A 4 turnover margin is just too many to overcome. One difference though is that we were not ahead 17-3. We were behind, so taking more chances was perhaps reasonable. Utah blew up while ahead by a significant margin, which is much worse.

P12 now 1-7 in the past 8 Holiday Bowls.

That's what they get for always passing up Stanford.
