Thanks. Initially, I didn't read the very informative email much past the appointment info. This looks like a significant improvement to the process.

Geaux Cardinal!

Yeah I think the tool looks awesome. I also used the view finder and the sample views seemed accurate.

I couldn't help scanning around the stadium, and my impressions were:
1) There were fewer seats available than I expected. If a block of friends wanted to move, it could be difficult.
2) I anticipate there will be a *LOT* of compression and horizontal shifting. I was surprised at how full section 117 was. Section 116 (Shady 15 yard line-2 yard line) costs the same as Section 117 (2 yard line-end zone). Unless someone had neighbors they knew and liked, I would think almost anyone in 117 would move over to 116 until 116 was completely filled. I also imagine any available aisle seats will get scooped up.
3) I ran into some Stadium Neighbors at the spring scrimmage and one mentioned someone diagonally behind me (next to him) chose not to renew. The previous STH had 4 seats, but I only see 2 of his seats listed (Seats #5&#6 out of #3-#6). Assuming the person surrendered all 4 seats (#3-#6), I wonder why they weren't listed. One theory is that he kept 2 but plans to resell them all.
4) Comparing the small number of available seats to the small number of people I recognize season-after-season, I suspect there is a significant number of reseller/scalper STHs, and one of the side benefits of using engagement (and donation history) is that it would help keep down the number of scalpers, because if you donate, say $1000 to the university, it's less likely you'd buy season tickets just to make $100-200 a season on each ticket. On the downside, I know of some examples where I feel non-alum, longstanding STHs' loyalty is under-appreciated.
4) Did anyone find any info on parking? I want to upgrade my lot if it's available.

Anybody who renewed their season tickets after we went 1-11 in 2006 certainly deserves some consideration.

What year did subscriptions hit their nadir? Using that would be one way to weed out ticket brokers. I don't know any numbers but I'd have to guess it bottomed out at about 9000 seats.

But does the AD actually care about brokers? The Stanford website is hooked directly into StubHub to make it easy to re-list your tickets, even for Family Plan seats which we're not supposed to re-sell, so the main consideration seems to be total tickets sold and butts in seats.

I don't live in the Bay Area so I confess the ridiculous scheduling of ND on Thanksgiving weekend every other year makes me a regular StubHub customer. Which is fine as it helps to subsidize the rest of the package. OTOH with family in LA, I can pretty easily get to the UCLA game that weekend on other years, so it sort of evens out.

I was hopeful for a return to the SF Bay Area after a few years in the OC.  (That happened in early 2008) and suspected after the 2006 season that I should get season tickets in 2007 while demand was nice and low.  The strength of the odd year schedule caused me to fear that maybe the stadium would sellout in 2007 preventing access to Big Game.  I was a season ticket holder for years before moving to the OC in 2004.   Technically my current string of season ticket loyalty started with the 2007 season and included a mailing address ~400 miles away from the stadium.

I think parking will work the same way as seats as they have a tab in the demo for parking selection.

5/8 at noon. I have been a four year STH, modest donations to the BCC and general scholarship fund, technically a former varsity athlete according to the Block S group.
