FWIW, the USA Today Coaches' Poll has CSF at #16 (273 pts), Texas in "Others Receiving Votes" (but 27th? with 68pts), and Stanford much further down (36? with 12 pts). Gotta play them one game at a time...

That USA Today Coaches' Poll is from February 3.  In any event, I agree that if we play them one game at a time and do well, the ranking will take care of itself.

Oops, my bad. Did not notice that it was only Week 1. They don't update it weekly? Thanks for pointing that out.

For baseball, I look at College Baseball America's weekly poll: http://www.baseballamerica.com/college/college-top-25-feb-29/

Interesting poll.  Four Pac 12 teams including both Oregon schools, C.al and UCLA in the top 14, but no other west coast schools in the Top 25 and Michigan is the only other school outside of the Southwest/South area.  Michigan, now #20, was #14 last week when they lost to Cal Poly and Santa Clara to fall to 5-2.  They play C.al, San Jose State and UC-Davis twice.  Be interesting to see where they are in a week.

And no room for other western schools.  BYU, 7-1, with 70 runs scored in 8 games. No love for UCSB who kicked Kentucky out of the rankings and is 7-1 and plays UCLA tomorrow and Oregon on 3/4-6.  They're giving up less than four runs per game.  Cal Poly is 6-2, 2-2 against ranked teams (UCLA and Michigan).  Long beach state is 5-2, beat UCLA 10-1, took two of three from Arizona State.
