www.showcare.com is the vendor.  All their marketing copy about being awesome and reliable is quite laughable right now.

Allow me to translate that for you:

"blah blah blah Service Unavailable blah blah blah."

Re: Alumni Tailgate - TreeFitty - 12-14-2015

Got to the pricing page.

$76.50 for alumni and affiliates

Re: Alumni Tailgate - Hank 91 - 12-14-2015

That's how far I got. I had high hopes at that point... but then I got the English/French error message before I was able to verify my address.

Re: Alumni Tailgate - winflop - 12-14-2015

I got to the second screen "Contact Information" but then it timed out.

Now I can't get to Step 1.  WTF SAA

Re: Alumni Tailgate - washingtonismoney - 12-14-2015

They took my payment information ... but no confirmation.

Kind of embarrassing that Silicon Valley U can't build a website that handles...at most 10-20k?...trying to buy stuff.

Re: Alumni Tailgate - SUBuddha - 12-14-2015

I have not been able to get in all day. ARRRGGGGGGG!

Re: Alumni Tailgate - SUBuddha - 12-14-2015

Got to step 2 twice in the last 30 minutes then got service unavailable.

Re: Alumni Tailgate - washingtonismoney - 12-14-2015

Was able to actually pay... I think. No email confirmation yet, but, uh, got something.

Keep holding out!

Re: Alumni Tailgate - SUBuddha - 12-14-2015

Finally got through and got a confirmation email! Tickets for the tailgate are confirmed! I look forward to meeting some of you. I usually hang out around the 90's area with my dad and some friends but would like to meet some of you!

Re: Alumni Tailgate - Hank 91 - 12-14-2015

Buddha -- Assuming I actually get my ticket (I'm still struggling, currently stuck in the Purgatory of Stage 5), I'll be in the 90s area as well. I'll buy you a free beer!

They typically have a large area with sections for classes from the 70s, 80s, 90s, etc. Two years ago we had a group of about eight, but we wound up running into at least ten other people from our class, which was fun. I thought the food was good -- there were even good gluten free options for my wife -- and there was a great selection of drinks, alcoholic and non.

The 60s section is near the rest rooms.

Ferrari I will bring my dad ('65) over to say hi. Oh, and to use the rest room.

Re: Alumni Tailgate - jaymon - 12-14-2015

Darn. I can't get in. I hope there are still tickets. I can't believe they would be sold out already.

Re: Alumni Tailgate - cardFan - 12-14-2015

Finally got through after hours of trying. Try now, or perhaps wait til later when more folks are asleep...

Re: Alumni Tailgate - stanfordcardinal01 - 12-14-2015

$76.50 for alumni and alumni guests/spouses
$56.50 for students and Young Alumni ('11-'15)
$126.50 for non-alumni

You'll all love this: Purchased six tailgate tickets for $459 tonight - my credit card statement says it went through - and upon hitting the "confirm purchase" button on the website, it said "Service Unavailable." So I got charged the full amount, with no confirmation email, and no recognition from the website that the tickets were purchased.

Biggest headache since the food debacle three years ago...!

Re: Alumni Tailgate - 76lsjumb - 12-14-2015

I can also confirm, after five and a half hours clicking on a "Register Now" button enough to induce carpal tunnel syndrome, that the system seems to be working sufficiently now to process orders without hangups.

I noted on the receipt that tickets "will be sent via FedEx and should arrive the week of December 28th to the address you provided during your registration."  Aside from the fact that "should arrive..." isn't quite the statement of confidence I would prefer, it is also the case that we will be down in L.A. already "during the week of December 28th," so delivery of our tickets to the Bay Area won't be of much use.

However, upon going online to check my confirmation, I got to a page with a barcode that states: "This barcode is your ticket to the event."  That sounds much more promising.  I am going to attempt to confirm that the barcode [and not just the "Commemorative Tailgate Ticket" that SHOULD be FedEx'd sometime during the week of December 28th] will get us in.  If someone else is able to confirm that with the alumni association or the showcare folks as well, it would be much appreciated if that info could be passed on [as I will do if I find anything out].

Here's to hoping they don't run out of food...

Re: Alumni Tailgate - Griffins78 - 12-14-2015

Interesting... I just purchased and completed the transaction, got the email receipt too but none of them have a bar code... oh well.
