Just got my tickets. Section 112, row 28. At the 25 yard line, "sunny" side, north end.

I have a different question, what are people doing to get there? Parking was really easy during the chicken bowl, but I doubt it'll be quite so smooth this time. Is anyone else going the VTA route? Seems like parking at the 880/Milpitas stop is pretty good for those coming from the east bay.

I've been thinking about this too. I'm coming from south san jose.
I agree crowd this year is likely to be somewhat bigger than last year's bowl, but can't guess how much. Any opinions?
I took VTA last year from south san jose. It was kind of a drag waiting in line to get a train after the game, and then learning that friends who drove had no problem parking with decent traffic.Â
Any advisc from Niner fans out there? What's the easiest lot to use for those of us from north, east and south?

Picked Section 222 as the section is elevated enough to see the full field, closer to the students, not too expensive and part of Stanford's allocation.
I suspect Unbelievably Spoiled Children fans will outnumber Stanford fans. The Unbelievably Spoiled Children band likely will be there in full force which will be annoying. Too bad Unbelievably Spoiled Children hasn't embraced the no-huddle "raid" style game as that program really keeps the band noise down.
Also will LSJUMB get post-season play relief or will this be another LSJUMB-free event?
LSJUMB

Woooo!
I live near downtown MV, so the light rail is too convenient not to take.

Planning to take the train from Palo Alto University Ave. station. That worked okay for the chicken bowl.

We aren't tailgating but we are planning to arrive about an hour before kickoff so that we have plenty of time to get parked, get through security, and get all the way around to the other side of the stadium to our seats.

I'm not concerned about getting in, it's getting out that worries me. I get extremely frustrated just idling in traffic waiting for things to move, I'd rather be making progress constantly even if the end result is slower. At Stanford we walk to a parking garage rather than park near the stadium.
Also taking the train two ways with two people is 1/5 the cost of parking at Levi's.

Counting on VTA is like counting on Wlat to not punt on third down.
I've been told one of the keys to parking at Levis is to park near the exit - especially in the Green 1 lot. Once you get out onto Great America Parkway things move pretty well.

At the chicken bowl you had no control over where you parked. I doubt that'll be different today.
Is VTA typically bad? It sounds like they're prepared and do a decent job. We're also on the north side of the stadium, pretty near the station, so I'm hoping that will help. (Whereas the parking you can buy only seems to on the south side.)

I've taken light-rail from the Campbell station in the past. It's reliable but s-l-o-o-w. Also, trains get very full by the time they hit the downtown San Jose stops so plan on standing for quite a while if you board later in their route. VTA Is a hassle-free option but not for everyone.

It was a disaster after the NHL outdoor game at Levi's, but I think there were way more people riding than expected. It was certainly fine getting there.
I think the plan my friends and I have is get a late lunch/drinks in mountain view and then vta to the game.

I went to the C.al-Oregon game last year, where I met a friend from San Leandro. I rode light rail; he drove. I left the stadium early in the fourth quarter. It took about 40 minutes just to board a train because of the mob of people trying to beat the rush. Then came the long, indirect, start-and-stop, train ride through downtown San Jose, then out to Campbell, where my wife picked me up. My friend stayed for the whole game, then drove home to San Leandro before I got home via light rail.

I wanted to write this down for posterity. The VTA was pretty easy. The schedule freaked me out a little by not listing all the stations, so instead of going to the 880 station I went to the next one, which was the Great Mall stop. That was a minor mistake because parking there was a nightmare, but I got lucky-ish and we found a close spot. The train there was super easy, though the timetable was wrong by ~15 minutes, that didn't matter much.
The train home was also pretty darn easy. The Mountain View line was stopped basically all the way back, but the Alum line was empty. We walked and walked and walked while the Mountain View people were stationary. We got on the first train for our line, got seats, and were at our car and on the road maybe 40 minutes after leaving our seats (most of which was walking to the train). It was pretty hassle-free, all things considered, not sure if it was better than parking but it was 1/5 the cost and probably less frustrating.
Seems like a good choice if you're coming from the East Bay to Levi's.

Light rail going north was bad this time. I got on a train fairly quickly and it left promptly, but there were two or three very long stops for "obstruction on the tracks" or other unclear reasons. Once I finally got to the MV station, CalTrain to Palo Alto was fast and easy.

I had a pretty good experience this year parking in Green Lot 1, the Great America lot. I was planning to park further away, but the only pre-paid parking I could buy yesterday morning was Green 1 and didn't want to take a chance. We got there at 2:30 and breezed right in. Friends who arrived at 3:30 also said it wasn't too bad.Â
Getting out after the game wasn't much worse than leaving Stanford Lot 2 the last three games. Maybe a little worse, but not much. We were parked very close to Great American entrance and got into the nearest lane to exit onto Great Amer Pkwy. Once in a lane out the parking lot, there is not a lot of choice where you go. We went left to 101, then forced to turn left only mission college Blvd, which was fine with us since we got onto 101 South at Montague to get back to San Jose.
We took VTA last year, which was 45 minutes ride time each way from Tamien in San Jose, not counting time waiting for a train or driving to/from Tamien. Our drive to levi's yesterday was about 20 minutes to when we parked (two hours before game time). On the way home, I'm guessing it was about 40. I do expect if the stadium had been packed and a game that went down to the wire, it would have been a lot worse after the game. I bet that accounts for a lot of stories once reads about nightmare exits after concerts and some NFL game.
