I'm old school so I don't keep up with the modern stats.  But I once saw a page for an all-time NL stat that basically translated into worst hitters -- LeMaster and Lanier were both in the top (bottom) 20 and I think Boo was actually in the top 10.  Mick probably knows what stat it was.

I think Bobbbbb has it correct on Young for most losses and base hits.
Most walks: Nolan Ryan?

Most strikeouts: Reggie Jackson?
Most career outs: Pete Rose?
Most career caught stealing: Cobb?
Most career errors: Jeter?

Typical Farhan move.  Low risk decent potential upside. Never been a fan.  But he’s had some good years. And some bad and injured ones. At least they now have a lefty in the rotation.

The “10 out” provision protects Wood from being the second guy in after an opener.  The old notion of incentives based on starts can now be found in the dumpster.  

I had a feeling they would sign Wood.  He is has some history with Farhan.  I like the move - lots of upside; very little downside.  As you noted - a typical Farhan move....

I get that.  (Although I hope the whole opener garbage dies away quickly).  But how bout innings incentives?  10 outs. Seriously..  Gee I went 3 1/3 gave up 5 runs.  But that’s another $100,000.

Dick Stuart was born in The City and graduated from Sequoia HS. He played a few games in the last year of the Hollywood Stars in the Coast League (a Pirate Farm Team). Could have played for 20 years in the Bigs if they had a DH in the 50’s.

I think that the No Peekee period has passed so the most errors were committed by Herman Long.

I’m partial to Miller over Michaels in baseball. But Lon was a bit past his prime when he worked with Miller. I tell you what, it’s tough to beat Miller and Flemming. I think Flemming is fantastic.

They were very good but as I grew up listening to Russ Hodges, Lon Simmons and Bill Thompson doing the 6th, they'd have my vote.

Don Klein was the nicest man I worked with in 53 years in the film business. Russ Hodges the second nicest.

No matter how you feel about Russ his call of the Shot Heard Round the World was the greatest call ever.

100% correct on all counts.  I actually liked Ron Fairly, not as much as Miller, Simmons or Fleming. "27 years of waiting have come to an end..." said Fairly when the Giants clinched the 1989 pennant.

Bob had it.  It's Reyes Montoya, in 2018.  Pitched 65 innings, and gave up 34 hits for 4.71 hits per nine innings, an SF Giants record.

And he'll be 28 years old and returning from Tommy John surgery.  Hope he can close...
