The crystal ball states the percentage of "experts" that predict he'll attend school #1, #2, #3, etc. The "experts" don't get to weight the odds that the recruit will attend each school. Many of the "experts" just pick the school they cover or the local school, without any real knowledge. The fact that Yarbrough visited Stanford and put Stanford in his top 5 shows you that the current crystal ball number is not accurate.Â

There are four guys on 247 who are doing anything more than guessing. Barton Simmons, the former Ivy League safety, is one of them. If he predicts a school other than Stanford for a serious Stanford prospect, take down your tent.

Yvonne, thanks for the pic. I think I recognize Eboh, Stewart, Fehoko, Yarbrough, Simms, and Robinson. I don't recognize the guy third from the right. The other 6 seem to be on Bo Peek's chat group based on these tweets. Seems there may be something brewing in Palo Alto.

It appears to me that this Junior Day group bonded the way guys usually bond during the Big Visit.

I don't know if I'm forgetting about the past, or if the amount of information being shared this year about recruits is greater than before, but...
It does feel like this 2016 class is shaping up to be potentially epic by Stanford standards, in that it feels there is a lot more early momentum this year than in the last couple classes, and a lot more guys saying Stanford is atop their list this early. Makes it look like a lot more guys are preparing themselves academically for Stanford earlier in their high school career.

The 2012 class started with Carter, Shittu, and Davis. That was a heck of a Spring, and you saw what happened as momentum built in that class. As Hulk notes, there are more geographic hurdles than there were in 2012, but there still is remarkable potential for the 2016 class. On top of everything else, if Donald Stewart comes, does that give Stanford a legitimate shot with his classmate, Rashan Gary?Â

Technology invented either at Stanford or by Stanford grads has rendered geography less and less relevant. #nerdnation

Didn't Shittu decommit shortly after that? I remember we didn't official get him until NSD.

Shittu decommitted and recommitted several times due to admissions uncertainty.

In that 2012 class, Shittu, Rector (Washington commit), Peat, Murphy and Hoffpauir (Arizona commit) all committed to us on LOI day. Whitfield also was thought to be wavering.Â

Are you sure Hoffpauir was an Arizona commit prior to LOI day? He was a cal recruit at some point. He even posed with a bunch of "Calgang" players at the Army All Star game. He was one of the Lupoi defectors.

Do we know whether Mike Williams visited for Junior Day? I thought I saw a report that he was going to visit, but he wasn't in the pics from the weekend.
Do we know who is the 3rd guy in this pic with Yarbrough and Curhan?Â
https://stanford.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1753998&PT=4&PR=2Â Looks like Devery Hamilton, but I never saw a report that he was scheduled to visit.Â
Thanks.

You're correct. He was Cal until the very end when he flipped to the good guys.

New post about a new class of 2017 offer (5-star CB/RB on Rivals, Scout, 247; no ESPN rating yet) on the recruiting board, class of 2017 thread.

In case you like reading tea leaves, Clark Yarbrough's profile photo on Twitter is a photo of him in Stanford gear, standing with his parents at Stanford's Junior Day. Based on what I've read about Junior Day, I am assuming that Simms and Fehoko are silent commits, and it is starting to look like there may be several more.
