Indeed. The 2s, 3s, and 4s came through with 2-0 wins. The 1s and 5s went down 1-2.
GCU up shortly. Same (mediocre) live stream available.
Change at the 5s, with McKinney swapping places with Doucet.

Stanford falls 2-3 to #7 GCU.
It was tied 2-2 (Stanford winning the 1s and 2s), with the 3s (Harvey/Sharp) ahead in the third set, 8-5, 9-7, 11-9 (IIRC). But GCU won it 15-11, apparently scoring 6 in a row.
Tomorrow they take on #14 LBSU and #1 USC.
RE: Stanford Beach Volleyball -

Stanford squeaks by #14 LBSU 3-2.
Stanford's 5s won in straight sets (21-12, 21-17), the others all went three sets, Stanford losing at 1s and 2s and winning the 4s. The 3s (Harvey/Kriz) were last to finish after two deuce sets (21-23, 21-19). LBSU was up 8-5, then 11-8, but then Stanford came back and closed the gap and forced extra points, winning 18-16.
Now they take on #1 USC, though USC lost yesterday to UCLA (3-2), so they probably won't be #1 next week.

Note that Stanford alumna Sunny Villapando is playing on the 5s for USC.

Wow, I'm surprised USC lost to UCLA. Even so it's hard to envision Stanford winning any of the five matches with USC. I thought Stanford vs USC was going to be televised but apparently not.
The USC live streams were not all that good.
Very nice comeback by Harvey/Kriz against LBSU.

USC sweeps. Morris/Wilson managed to take a set from the Nourse twins. Everyone else was swept (the 3s went down 21-9, 21-9).

Congrats to Zeena. There are some amazing people at Stanford.
Stanford stays at #8 in the AVCA poll.
With a record of 5-1 Cal stays at #10 and Cal Poly with a record of 2-6 is at #11

Stanford also swept ASU.
Saturday and Sunday they have four more duals at the Pac-12 South.
Then April 2 & 3 they finally play at home. Should be nice weather.

Stanford swept Oregon 5-0.
Against #1 UCLA, the 1s fell 2-0, but the 2s picked up a point 24-22, 26-24. The other three matches went three sets each,
but only the 5s were able to get another win. A 2-3 loss is not too bad.
Scores were just revised, Stanford's 5s lost the third set 16-14. So it is a 1-4 loss.
(The live stats were frozen for a long time, and then all of a sudden all the matches were over.)

Xolani Hodel did not play this morning. Hope it is not an injury. Ekstrom & Reilly won decisively at the 1s.
RE: Stanford Beach Volleyball - Softball Fan - 03-27-2022
So Stanford is 11-5 and looking pretty good. They won't quite get to the USC/UCLA level this season but will be competitive against almost all the other teams in the country.
Switching to
indoor if it's ok I don't take time to find the indoor thread:
ASU is playing spring exhibition matches.
https://thesundevils.com/news/2022/3/9/womens-volleyball-spring-schedule-set-for-sun-devil-volleyball.aspx
The Sun Devils will start their spring schedule on the road on March 26, traveling down south to Tucson to compete in a tournament at Arizona. On April 2, ASU will host teams in a tournament at DFA. Finally, the Devils will hit the road to San Diego State on April 23.
I hope Stanford plays some spring matches open to the public. Thus far I haven't seen anything about it.

Stanford was back to its usual line-up for ASU, including Hodel & Reilly at the 1s, and got the sweep.
I wonder if they're just resting some players at times? There's been a little more shuffling of players this year it seems.
RE: Stanford Beach Volleyball - Softball Fan - 03-27-2022
Thanks for the updates. I didn't get to watch any of the tournament on TV.
The temperature was 90 degrees F. so it might make sense to rest players if you are pretty confident of a victory. IMO Andrew Fuller is doing a good job of pacing the team and keeping players involved.
