Sorry Giants & gang, been busy and did not get to closing this one out earlier.

Giants got one - yes - Kenny Lofton (6'0", in the 1988 FF with U.OF.A <sucks!> as backup PG) and then the 1995 WS with Cleveland (lost to the Braves) and 2002 WS with the Giants (lost to the Angels - aaaargh!). The other was Tim Stoddard (6'7" starting PF for 1974 national champion NC State, coached by Norm Sloan and featuring <some> sky-walking dude, last name Thompson) then 2 WS appearances, both as an Oriole - the first in 1979 against the Pirates and the second in 1983 against Philly, when he won a ring but DNP.

Here's another fun fact - both of these guys went to East Chicago's Washington HS.

I would guess the other two SS MVPs in the 60s were Luis Aparicio and Ernie Banks.

Yes on Wills and Versailles (one of the most unlikely MVP’s). Although Wills was ‘62, when he stole 104 bases.  And he didn’t deserve it. All Willie did that year was hit 49 Homers drive in 141 runs and slash .304/.384/615/.999 and win a gold glove. But Willie was so good it was just another year.

Ripken won in ‘83.  But one other SS won before him.

The first three that played around that time who came to mind were Ozzie Smith, Robin Yount and Bert Camapaneris - I don't think it was the latter (my dad was an A's fan and I don't remember him woofing about that) so either Smith or Yount?

Robin Yount.  1982.  Ripken won in 83.

Don't think Deion Sanders made it to Cooperstown, so likely someone of old.  Jim Thorpe?  Don't think his MLB stats were hall-worthy.
