Never turned it on.  Even back when I had cable.

More of us Gen Xers believe in UFOs than Social Security.  My solution is to assume it won't be there and save like crazy.  Starting with not having cable or satellite.  Which BTW is a way to be free of all this Pac-12 Network Angst.

I don't want someone coming here if his heart's not set on us. Although from my biased perspective (and I assume the rest of you are similar) I believe that as soon as someone's on campus they'll love it, that's clearly not always true.

I just hope his mom guided him to the decision he really wanted to make, not the one his peers wanted him to make.

or, more likely, just a teenager messing with people's heads via twitter...  that reads as if he's prepping the home folks in Nebraska for an unpleasant jolt.  But maybe he's talking about US.  Maybe mom told him all about the meaning of home, and family, and duty to family,  and the Big Red, and how much she loves watching her kid play and giving him a big hug after the game,  and the windswept plains, etc.

Great kid. I just hate to see him playing for a mediocre d*** like Bo Pelini.

Anyway, a little less than two hours to go before we know, I guess.

Phillips is rated a 3-star.  His offers are good, but not overwhelming.  Of his list, these impress as big time:

Arizona State, Army, Duke, Florida Atlantic, Harvard, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas State, Nebraska, North Dakota, North Dakota State, Northern Illinois, Ohio, Princeton, South Dakota, South Dakota State, Stanford, Toledo,  UCLA, Western Michigan, Wisconsin, Wyoming, Yale

Coaches know talent better than I and most of you,  so maybe they see the next Chase Thomas or Trent Murphy.

Maybe he and Brandon Simmons can get a healthy competition going on this front.

With commitment, we're #2 in Pac-12 in 247's real-time recruiting rankings, (#3 among regular opponents i.e. w/ N.D.); #40 nationally. #2 Pac-12 in per-commit average (#3 among regular opponents, though N.D., U.S.C. and Stanford are very tightly bunched.)

Didn't realize when recruiting a home state favorite, the people we need to look out for are the munchkins.

After seeing his more recent tweets and reading his interview with Rivals, I'm more comfortable with his commitment. It sounds like he's looking forward to it.

We all love Stanford, but it's not for everyone, and a commitment made under duress probably won't last.

Why we offered a 3-star kid from Nebraska - Redrum - 07-15-2013

Apparently the kid had a phenomenal Stanford football camp.  Really showed well against some OL guys we had invited or offered.  Just think,  if he hadn't spent the money to come camp at Stanford or, if, say, his dad had gotten laid off a couple months earlier so they decided they had to skip the trip to Stanford,  then no celebrating here or in Omaha. 

And, it's an act of courage to send your kid off to a distant college now matter what one's financial or scholarship situation is.  Particularly if the family income is less secure, as his dad's layoff situation might be.  So kudos to the parents for making that leap of faith along with their son.

Bo Pelini.  Wotta tool.  Actually, I can see waiting until you can see the kid perform up close in a school's own camp.  I just like verbally abusing Pelini.  Kinda reads like Omaha.com writer shares my view.

Sounds like we offered a guaranteed four-year scholarship.

Well, or if he gets injured we'll give him some random academic scholarship, it's not like we want for those. Or is that against NCAA rules? Probably is.
