Anthony Munoz

RE: Sports trivia thread 2022 - BobK - 04-27-2023

Yary is correct.
So who is the newest. No one following the draft?

RE: Sports trivia thread 2022 - BobK - 04-28-2023

Bryce Young of Mater Dei HS was the # 1 draft choice last night

No.  Who did Niners get in first round?  :)

Here's a question for the Giants fans out there --

Name the 7 pitchers who have won over 100 games for the San Francisco Giants.

RE: Sports trivia thread 2022 - BobK - 04-28-2023

Marichal
Timmy
Cain
Bum
Perry

I knew him well. Mike McCormick

That's 6 correct answers for Bob!

Marichal, 238 wins
Perry, 134
Bumgarner, 119
Lincecum, 108
McCormick, 104*
Cain, 104

Still missing one.

* McCormick also won 3 games as an NY Giant, for a total of 107 wins as a Giant.

Bonus: Which San Francisco Giants pitcher won over 100 games as a Giant, if you add up his wins both as an SF Giant (41) and an NY Giant (67)?

RE: Sports trivia thread 2022 - BobK - 04-28-2023

Bonus Johnny Antonelli

RE: Sports trivia thread 2022 - terry - 04-28-2023

(04-28-2023, 02:07 PM)BobK Wrote:  Bonus Johnny Antonelli

Correct!

There's still one more SF Giants pitcher with 100 wins.

RE: Sports trivia thread 2022 - BobK - 04-28-2023

The Count

No. Montefusco had 59 wins as a Giant.

I saw a headline that the Niners and Ravens and Trey Lance Lamar Jackson in a blockbuster deal, only to see that it was someone's mock draft. Who the hell pays attention to the 500 mock drafts out there, and why do they?

Woody!  The great Kirk Rueter.

RE: Sports trivia thread 2022 - cardcrimson - 04-28-2023

I cheated and still couldn't find the 7th. Rueter had 99, and was the only one I could find who was close. . . .

I stand corrected. The stat sheet showed Giants, Expos, and Total for 1996--three lines, and I double counted the Total line as I mistook the abbreviated Tot for Tor. . . ..Rueter had 105 wins as a Giant.
