Walker Lyons 4* TE Folsom, CA and Simone Pale 3* OG were also on campus yesterday. I believe this is Pale’s 3rd time on campus this spring, so that’s a good sign.

Yeah, I was quite surprised to hear it was a PWO offer. The profile seems in line for a scholarship in general but especially at Stanford where not only did Jake Bailey and Ryan Sanborn get scholarships but they were spaced apart in a way that would now be tailor-made for Flintoft to be the heir apparent to Sanborn.

It suggests we are getting more serious about using all our scholarships for position players, which I think is a good thing. Back when Sanborne and Bailey were on the roster, we struggled to fill 85 scholarships. Now we have to be selective about which fifth years to bring back.
Since Sanborne can take his COVID year, I wouldn’t be surprised if Flintoff was messaged that we will only have one scholarship punter on the team at a time, so he can have a scholarship if Sanborne doesn’t come back, and if he does, can have one after a year.

Fort Collins lineman Ethan Thomason talks early recruiting (247sports.com)
"I definitely did not expect to have this much attention but I am lucky to have it," said Thomason, the owner of a 4.0 grade point average. "I am looking for a winning program and coaches that can get me to the NFL. And also a great education. I am not sure what I want to major yet, but I want to be a student and an athlete."

This would be a more biting point if coach Heffernan weren’t previously an OL assistant for the Buffalo Bills and coach Sanders an ILB assistant for the Jets.
