Atlee Hammaker was the #1 pick of the draft for the Royals in 1979, and pitched for the Giants from 1982-1990. Pat Sheridan was their third round pick, played 10 years in MLB, and 1989 for the Giants. Craig Lefferts was their 7th round selection, and was a reliever for the Giants for three years, from 1987 to 1989.

The two Hall of Famers were their 4th round and 18th round selections, NFL legends Dan Marino and John Elway, respectively.

And speaking of Stan Musial, he and Nate Colbert are the only two major leaguers to hit five home runs in a single day (two ends of a doubleheader for both). What's less well known is that eight-year old Colbert and his father were in the stands on May 2, 1954, the day that Musial hit five home runs. Eighteen years later, Colbert did it himself.

It's a little obscure, I'll just answer it. Mark Lemke, 2nd baseman for the Braves had an 11 year career with 3,664 plate appearances. Sort of the anti-Ron Hunt, he was never hit by a pitch, not once. Not a great hitter either (lifetime .246/.317/.324/.641).

This one's a little more interesting. There are 87 pitchers in the Hall of Fame, although Babe Ruth and John Ward are in the HoF primarily as hitters, and Hank O’Day is actually in as an umpire (he's a St. Mary's grad...figures). 

Of the 84 pitchers in the HoF, 17 led the league in losses at least once, six led the league in losses at least twice, and one HoF pitcher led the league in losses four times.

Yes on Robin Roberts, no on Kaat, Blyleven, Ryan and Jenkins. The other five were Steve Carlton ('70, '73), Eppa Rixey (1917, '20), Red Ruffing ('28 and '29) and Vic Willis (1904, '05) with two seasons each leading the league in losses. The last, with an incredible four seasons leading the league in losses was Phil Niekro. Niekro actually led the National League in losses four years in a row, from 1977 to 1980 (20, 18, 20, 18).

The three All-Stars were Bob Lemon (1951, 17-14, in the middle of seven consecutive All-Star seasons), Hal Newhouser (1947, 17-17, in the middle of five consecutive All-Star seasons), and Phil Niekro (1978, 19-18, GG, 6th in Cy Young vote).

And the other HoF pitchers who led the league in losses once include: Cy Young, Nolan Ryan, Tom Glavine, Burleigh Grimes, Ted Lyons, Rube Marquard, Amos Rusie, Ed Walsh and Early Wynn. Rusie, playing for the Giants, lost the most in one season, 34 games -- though in fairness, he won 29 games that season. He was 217-140 for the rest of his career.

Spahn has to be one of the Giants.  Gaylord Perry?  Carlton was a Giant for a year.

Cy Young on the 20 and 200. Nolan Ryan on the 19. 

Warren Spahn, Grover Cleveland Alexander. Phil Niekro.

I think the three Giants were Mathewson, McGinnity, Marichal with 16 years. If not McGinnity, I'd say Hubbell.  Probably not Marquard, Rusie or any of the modern day Giants. Perry wasn't around long enough. He's probably on the list, but didn't do all seasons with the Giants.
