Re: Class of 2018 - Hurlburt88 - 09-29-2017

I think we need to assume Casey Tucker will transfer

Since the SC line will enter the draft en masse he could play there. I think he needs a pass from HC to transfer in conference.

Re: Class of 2018 - BobK - 09-30-2017

Tucker would be a grad transfer

Re: Class of 2018 - OutsiderFan - 10-02-2017

Is the early signing period impacting some visits?  Stanford seems to now be hosting a lot more in-season visitors than in years past. I wonder if the "big recruiting weekend" is now a bit of a thing of the past, or at least won't be nearly as big as in recent years before the early signing period was ushered in.

DL Thomas Booker, DB Kendall Williamson, and Vandy commit and OLB Caleb Kelly all visited for ASU: https://twitter.com/TheThomasBooker/status/914993084890517505

OK, now that the typo is fixed, feel free to comment on the topic addressed in the post.  I'll even re-post it...

I've always thought the biggest problem with our recruiting over the past three years is that we haven't been able to find a tailback named Engels. The Marx-Engels backfield should've been a priority.

Well we apparently missed on Don Engels, an Illini quarterback:

"In Don's senior year the team played Stanford in the 1952 Rose Bowl. The game was announced by broadcasting greats Mel Allen and Jack Brickhouse and was the first nationally televised college football game. Illinois won by a score of 40-7 and Don threw the first nationally televised college football touchdown pass. The lessons he learned from his high school and college coaches would guide Don for the rest of his life.

... Don had short stints in the NFL with the Chicago Cardinals and Baltimore Colts, and the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League."

Above from his obituary.

Well, we do have Love in the backfield, who likes to TROT(sky) through opposing defenses as he CRUISE(chev)s toward the end-zone where he celebrates with (W.E.B.) DA BOYZ. I think if we took a POLL (Pot), we'd find that most folks think that he puts on a SHOW(cescu), that he is not SLOW(bodan), and that he is deserving of our FIDELity.
