For all who post a link and little-to-no content, please realize that the Cardboard itself doesn't have anything but meaningless URL codes. There is no mention of the player's name or the school. A one-line description goes a long way.
For the record, Bob's link was a post by malveaux_zoe that she has committed to Duke.

Her instagram post shows up for me on Bob's post...so was very apparent what was being referred to. Not sure why it may appear for some and not for others.

Malveaux's picture with Duke commitment showed up for me on Bob's post. Is it possible some slower computers take time to open the link?
I find the timing of her announcement interesting. If I'm correct, this week is a quiet period; no communication between coaches and recruits.
I would make the decision Malveaux made. She will play in a pretty good WVB conference and get a fine education.

What you see in a link (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter) or a photo isn't what is actually at the Cardboard. If you search for "malveaux" in the Cardboard, you won't find BobK's post a few hours ago. OTOH, if you search for, say, "Alec Rothe", you will find
PaloAlto's post from yesterday because the post included the important info from the Twitter link.

I have found that many such instagram posts and twitter posts will not show up for me if I am using Bing as a browser, but no problem with Firefox or Chrome.

Bob, you know me and I believe you have to know that isn't what I think. Please don't say that even if in jest. You have to know we appreciate all your scoops and inside knowledge. Thank you!

Volleyball.com analysis of AVCA preseason top 25 teams:
https://volleyballmag.com/breaking-down-the-avca-preseason-top-25-081623/
No. 3 Stanford (27-5, 19-1 Pac-12) — Stanford, which lost in the NCAA regional final — at home — to San Diego is my team to beat. Pound for pound, the Cardinal’s starting lineup is the nation’s best, including the best right side in Kendal Kipp, the best setter in Kami Miner, and a libero as good as anyone’s in Elena Oglivie. Throw in Elia Rubin, Sami Francis, Caitie Baird and McKenna Vicini and you’re looking a team that will win the final season of the Pac-12.

U21 World Championship: First match USA sweeps Cuba. My observations of four potential Stanford recruits:
Mullen (Opp 2025): Most polished of the four. Played the whole match.
Andrew (MB 2024): At 6'5" an imposing blocker. Still needs to grow into her body. Played the whole match.
Harvey (MB 2025): Didn't start. When MB Rothe got injured middle of the second set, Harvey replaced her. My guess Rothe out for the tournament and Harvey will play the balance of it.
Demaria (OH 2025): Only in for a couple plays.

Not surprisingly, the Pac-12 coaches pick Stanford to win the Pac-12.

WSU second, followed closely by Oregon.

Thanks for the update. There is a short video posted today on the StanfordWVB twitter account. It shows a scrimmage in the practice gym. Annabelle Smith looks dressed not to play?
U21 World Championships: USA convincingly beat Netherlands today.
When the connection is working between setter and Harvey, it is a thing of beauty to watch her hit the quick set. She sees the blocker's hands well for a player her age.
"Harvey totaled 13 points, hitting at a .533 efficiency percentage, adding two blocks and one ace."
DeMaria has gotten little playing time. When I've seen her on the court she is a stud and I like her.

Any chance you can post the more now since nobody else seems to have much to chime in from the scrimmage? ;)

Annabelle Smith is not playing yet, but took part in the meet&greet. Said she expects to be back out on the court soon.

Was at the “BBQ” where we got to talk with most of the team. So impressive. Several Pre-Med or Engineering. The team is physically healthy and excited for this year with goal of winning it all. The pandemic made the experience difficult for the team in many ways - that this year for the first time has begun to seem normal. Starting with the trip to Eastern Europe (Slovenia was a favorite), the team was able to spend time together getting close and then have a normal training schedule this summer. Classes in person finally gave them a chance to experience the specialness that is Stanford University including their classmates.
With teammates healthy, especially Sami, and the added fire power, Kami has a full arsenal to work with. They have added new wrinkles to the offense and plan to play quicker. Kevin continues to incorporate more play like the men.
They talked about Kevin wanting them to be well rounded and good at all aspects and familiar with more positions and roles. I think it’ll help them be more connected on the court, knowing what all their teammates are doing and thinking.
