Two guys should have picked that ball. . .. .Horrible pass.

Not only was that an inaccurate throw, but it wasn't even close to a tight spiral.

You're still watching WIM. Well, so am I. It's like watching a train wreck.

Shaw needs to give some of his money back. No coach in the country would continue playing Chryst with Costello on the bench.

Defense is going to need to score a TD it seems...

Two turnovers leading to two more field goals.

If Costello doesn't play in the 4th quarter - win or lose - I'll be too upset to sleep tonight.

Message to Shaw...
Maybe Costello is hurt...

This is one of the weirdest sequences I can ever recall. Like you wonder, what level of evidence is sufficient to convince you that that the corner is too far in the distance to ever be turned?
I'm not a brobdingnagian fan of QBR, but let's use it for convenience's sake. Chryst has had an entire game with a 10.5 QBR this season. He had a 13.4 against Arizona last year. This will surely be his third. That means in just over a season he has had three sub 15 QBR performances -- when 50 is, like, a passable, OK QB.
In a
full game, Josh Nunes
never had a sub-35 performance. So Chryst has had
three full games worse than Nunes's all-time bad. And yet no substitution! At a certain point you have to see, right?
And Costello has, even by Shaw's own admission, played well. Why isn't he switching? Why isn't there a coach he respects enough to tell him, "Look, David, you're a great coach but you're being a moron. Snap out of it." It's incomprehensible.

I mean, if Costello doesn't play in the 4th we'll probably lose. Chryst has returned to his SDSU form, and doesn't have Love to bail him out this time.

If Costello comes in, very unfair to get him in so late.

Shaw gives me this feeling at least a couple of times every single season.

More wisdom from Reddit:
Quote:Shaw is a really good coach. But he is incredibly stubborn, sometimes to a fault. This is one of those times. Chryst should have been pulled a while ago, and if he stays in there's a very real chance Stanford loses this game.

Second friggin time this season the team has roughed the kicker. What an unacceptably sloppy team this year.
