I think you guys underestimate how speculative the journalism business is.

GREAT news on TOS about 2 new commits, new to the board but not brobdingnagian surprises. One is brobdingnagian news, an amazing OL, and the other a speedy under the radar RB, same school --yeehaw!

Devry is Devery Hamilton... the h-word was uttered because he had been committed to Michigan:

Ever since Devery Hamilton committed to Michigan, he seemed like a possible flip to Stanford candidate. To me, if you're going to end up at Stanford, unless you are 100% (and I mean 100%) certain Stanford will admit you, it makes all the sense in the world to verbally commit elsewhere to reserve your spot, and then flip to Stanford only if you are admitted.Â
I still very much want to see what Donald Stewart does in a Stanford uniform, but it sounds like there will be a lot of drama on signing day for Stanford. Hamilton, McCullough, Stewart, Powell, Pryts all are admitted it seems and have Stanford as an option.

Up to #11 in the nation in 247's composite ranking.
Did Devary's HS coach out him? - Redrum - 01-30-2016
If so, kind of a douche move.
And just to stroke our ego, the Scout Michigan board quotes US, the Cardboard, as one of the sources for the decommit news.

I think he did, but it felt like he had good intentions. His tweet (now deleted) was bursting with pride that two of his players were headed to Stanford. The pride is understandable, but a little discretion would've been nice.

Wow, great news!Â
I saw he was listed on one of the tweets from another one of our commits and wondered if he was waiting for Old Union. Looks like we are getting two good players from that HS.  As for Harbaugh, I can't wait until we play him (if he stays for more than 2 years). I expect him to be back in the NFL within 3 years. Call it sibling rivalry/jealousy with a little bit of ego (make that a ton of ego).
Not long ago there were so many Michigan alums berating him for what he said about UM academics. Desperation has caused them to have very short memories.

It now appears to be official:
Quote:"I sat down with my parents after we came back from Stanford this past weekend," Hamilton said. "We sat down and we just decided that this would be the best decision moving forward for me. In terms of the academics, things like that, you can't beat Stanford. We just decided it would be the best decision for me moving forward."

The high school (Gilman) these kids are coming from is the Stanford of Baltimore. A side of Baltimore you dont see on the news. The football coach is leaving after 30 years ( rumors he is going to UM). Here is an article about him and his philosophy.

Does anyone know how many scholarships are left to give? Simi will be going on a mission. But, isn't there a recruit coming back from a mission and a line backer from last year that will be joining the team?

The numbers are starting to get interesting.
There are now 23 commits listed on Rivals.
Presumably 2 are going on a mission: Fehoko and Kaufusi.
Presumably 1 coming back from troubles last year: Fox
[Though we haven't heard much about him in some time. There was some kind of "we expect him next fall" statement awhile back.]
That would put us at 22. Maximum of 3 spots availble - perhaps 4.
Outsider lists 5 admits who have not committed.
Presumably either not all 5 are able to commit, or somebody already on the list won't be at Stanford on scholarship next fall.
