In 1978 Congress passed a resolution promoting an American war hero after he was in the grave. What hero, what rank and what was special about his continuing service in the Army.

George Washington. Made General Of The Armies (six star) by Congress in 1978. Only other six star was Pershing. Washington out ranks Black Jack because he never was retired from the U.S. military. Bradley was the last five star.

Lombardi eight time all star. What Mack grad had a lights out season for the ABA Oaks and then retired?
A- Bobbbbbbbbbbbbbbb.
Abner Doubleday is in the Hall of Fame. Most don't recognize him as the Father of Baseball. As a Union general at Gettysburg he took over command of I Corps which included a famous regiment.
What regiment?
Why did he assume command on Day 1 Gettysburg?
Who relieved him later that day? Who took command of the Corps?
Who commanded II Corps which included the units defending Cemetery Ridge?

I think Serra is the only Bay Area school that can somewhat hang with McClymonds. Not as much depth. Bonds and Greg Jeffries in baseball. Swann and Brady in football. I suspect there are others.
Edit: Just looked at Serra HOF. Left off a biggie. I’ll let our historians answer. I am sure Phogge and Bobk will know.

Like Patton says, “Probably.”
I was talking to Longstreet around a campfire. “Let’s drug the Old Man and he’ll wake up and forget all about the charge.”
