Kathryn Plummer tried to do both her freshman year and found it too taxing, so dropped beach. SAs do need time off for recovery.

Today U19 team USA beat Poland in the world championship tournament. USA is now 4-0. Abigail Mullen was high scorer with 18 points. I hope the rumors about Mullen being a silent Stanford commit are true because she is good.

Opposite Abigail Mullen led all scorers with 18 points on 11 kills, one ace and six blocks.
Poland has some tall, athletic players. Maybe Hambly should try recruiting in Poland. They probably don't know anything about conference realignment.

Freshmen with bio added: Blyashov, Harvey, Kurt, Kirsch; Kurt got her professional team jersey number 15.
As I suspected Line Andersson is no longer on roster. Tillman not on roster. 16 players on the roster. My guess Belardi is the backup setter this season.
Kipp listed as "Fifth Year". Baird and Vicini listed as "Redshirt Senior". Oglivie listed as "Senior". BobK, care to speculate if any of these players will be back in 2024?

Also interesting on the roster that Harvey is listed as an opposite, and Ipar is an OH. I think I had anticipated them being reverse!

I also was surprised to see the positions listed on the Stanford roster for Kurt and Harvey. Perhaps Hambly sees Harvey as the starting OPP in 2024.

USA U19 team beats Italy in semi-finals; will play Turkey tomorrow for gold medal of U19 world championship. Abigail Mullen has been on the court almost every play and seems to be enjoying herself. She looks like a person who wants to be the go-to player in the big game. I hope Hambly can hold on to her. If anyone can it will be him.
Nebraska is playing a match in their football stadium in front of 90,000 plus fans the end of this month. It sold out in less than 48 hours. Every Nebraska home match has sold out for more than a decade. If Nebraska had a scholarship for Mullen would she choose them or would she choose Stanford for a chance to play Boise State?

I believe they are in pictures together as “classes” meaning the 5 player grouping are leaving after this year and the 4 player grouping has 2 more years. Which means 2 more years of senior Oglivie to go along with junior starters Miner and Francis. That would be brobdingnagian for the ‘24-‘25 season.

You don't even half to be a season ticket holder. I emailed the Director of VB Operations that I lived in SoCal now and was not a season ticket holder. She replied my son and I are more than welcome to attend. They will let anyone in that shows up. Doors open 3:00 pm with Hambly Q & A at 5:45 pm. BTW, the new Director of Operations responded promptly to my email and in a friendly manner. I like her. FWIW she explained it's a practice; not a scrimmage. There won't be referees there officiating a team scrimmage.
As it turns out I'm not going to be able to attend. Would appreciate a report on any info given out by Hambly.
Good catch BosCard. Let's hope Oglivie gets admitted to a graduate degree program.

ESPN offering this volleyball season; probably more next season. This is what we are up against on some streaming deal in 2024/2025 with PAC-4 leftovers plus a few other schools.

Middle blockers Lizzy Andrew, Taylor Harvey and Alec Rothe have joined the roster in place of Ayden Ames, Favor Anyanwu and Jaela Auguste.
So on the U21 USA 12 person roster are Andrew, Harvey, Kaci Demaria, and Abigail Mullen. All four of these players might end up at Stanford. Some of the best 16 and 17 year old players in the country on the U21 team.
First USA match is on Thursday August 17 vs Cuba at 4:00 pm PT on Youtube Channel.
There are three MBs on the roster so Andrew or Harvey will definitely be one of the starters. It will be interesting to see who USA uses as starting MBs, maybe both of them?
