RE: Class of 2019 - OutsiderFan - 05-01-2018

FWIW, there are zero Stanford predictions for DiCosmo on 247. It's Michigan 86% and Boston College 14%, with last prediction being Michigan a week ago.

I'm going to guess Stanford has much better chances with outside rush guys Josh Pakola from St. Francis and Liatu Latu from Jesuit (Carmichael). This isn't because 247 predicts them to Stanford, but because they are more local. FWIW, they are both higher rated prospects than DiCosmo.

Interestingly, Michigan hasn't offered either of these guys. I wonder if Harbaugh is staying away from "Stanford guys" because he knows Stanford can't be beat?

Harbaugh doesn't back down from competing with everyone. He isn't afraid to make a bizillion offers.

I wouldn't take the 247 predictions terribly seriously.

While I concur they aren't determinative, neither should they be completely discounted either.

RE: Class of 2019 - Extra Point - 05-01-2018

DiCosmo has 9 high academic schools in his list and 7 football power schools. It is clear that he wants to play football at the highest level and get a great education. There is only one school where he can get both. I would be really surprised if he doesn't commit to Stanford.

RE: Class of 2019 - Papa John - 05-02-2018

I would like to start another unfounded rumor: Stephen Herron Jr. flips from Michigan to Stanford and DiCosmo commits to Michigan.

Please, let's not go down that road. Let's make every effort possible to make the Cardboard an accurate source of information and informed opinion.  While I get this included "unfounded rumor," perhaps we can amend such statements to say "my opinion based on nothing.'  I don't know if it's just me, but I am hypersensitive to false narratives spreading and becoming accepted truths absent any backing of facts in the last several years in the world around us. The assault on the truth infuriates every fiber of my being.

I live my life based on truth, evidence, and the scientific method, and cringe at the very notion of truth being disavowed with lies and misinformation, or false narratives being accepted as fact.  So my attempt here is just to nip it in the bud so to speak on the Cardboard.  Nothing personal, Papa John.

No offense taken, OusiderFan, and I'll take this opportunity to explain myself.

As recently as a couple of days ago, a Michigan blog noted that Herron Jr. might flip:

https://www.landof10.com/michigan/michigan-football-recruiting-3-things-wolverines-need-stephen-herron

This speculation about Herron Jr is not new. Also there are no crystal ball predictions for DiCosmo to Stanford and most of them are for Michigan. So my opinions are based on something, which would be Internet rumors started by supposed experts who have speculated that what I stated will come to pass. In re-reading my original post, I can see where you would think that I was just making up things with no sources whatsoever. That was my bad, and I'll do better next time.

OK, cool...  Yeah, I've been pretty dubious Michigan would end up with Herron and both Hinton brothers. Hadn't seen anything that suggested Herron could be de-committing and ending up at Stanford, but wouldn't be surprising, especially after the Devery Hamilton and Paulson Adebo flips we've seen in the last few years.

Why isn't this embedding in the post?  I thought one of the main reasons for the board software change was to embed tweets and videos in posts?

Anyway, this legacy's highlight real is mucho impressive.

You have to type

Code:
[tweet]tweet url[/tweet]

[tweet]https://twitter.com/tsinclair_/status/995822770779971585[/tweet]

And even then, sometimes it doesn’t parse correctly.

Harbaugh has taken a lot of recruits from us. Christ Hinton and Stephen Herron Jr. (DE) So I doubt it's because Stanford can't be beat. They are a blue blood and we are school that make recruits jump through a lot of hoops before they come to us.

RE: Class of 2019 - TinderForMidgets - 05-14-2018

We could be having our next Christian McCaffrey. 4-star Austin Jones has a high chance of committing to Stanford.

Lots of positive feedback in this article about Stanford Junior Day:

Geaux Cardinal!

That's a pretty compelling story.  Really not much more to say.

I'll bet on Turner-Muhammad to Stanford.

That seems to be the 24/7 consensus as well.  Hope you guys are right.

It's starting to look like the 2019 class has the potential to be outstanding.  Stanford in the mix for two DL in this article:
https://n.rivals.com/news/rivals-camp-series-nashville-five-schools-that-should-be-pleased

Oddly, the position I'm most concerned about at this point is OL. Only eight OL offers out as of today.  Anyone know how many OL they will want to take in 2019?

Five, I think. There's going to need to be additional offers. Rouse seems like a sure bet, but beyond that, it'll be a fight to land any of the others.
