Graham Shuler announced on Twitter that Nick Davidson is the latest commit for Stanford. A little surprising considering he was an Ohio State legacy. This class is really shaping up to be great.

This is interesting if true.  Didn't think Davidson would commit to Stanford. 

So now - if this report is true - you have: OT Davidson, C Shuler, OG Casper 
Still in the running: (OG) Garnett, Fanaika (OT) Murphy, Peat, Cyburt

Do they take more than one Guard or more than one Tackle? 

Let's say Fanaika wants to commit now.  Does Stanford accept him knowing they want Garnett the most?  What if Murphy commits, do they still take Peat?  What if Cyburt commits, and Murphy and Peat want to as well?  Can they possibly take seven OL?

Yankey and Danser are probably starting at OG so we'd definitely take 2 more 5 star OTs. :) That would have us at 5 with 1 probably redshirting - mostly likely Davidson. And Fanaika is going on a Mormon mission so his scholarship will count towards the next class - no way we'd turn down Garnett who I actually think is a silent commit.

Davidson has an interesting family history. His dad, Jeff Davidson, is the Vikings' OL coach. He's also a former co-captain of Ohio State. His dad was also a captain at Ohio State. So, bloodlines.

Hopefully we are running the kind of program that encourages the "silent commit" types, who then come in and let their actions drown out anybody else's words!!!!

This is a very pleasant surprise.  Because of the strong links to Ohio State (and Urban Meyer's taking over there) I assumed that is where he would end up.  Always good to have a really high quality OT, even if we think we might get Murphy or Peat.  Sometimes those expectations go sideways in a hurry, so it is better to have one in hand.  Also, maybe Davidson's commitment will push some other "silent commits" (if they are in fact that status) to come out and claim a spot.

I still think we get at least one of the big three OL who are still out there.  If we can get at least one of them, and Odenigbo, Sanders, Shittu..has anyone heard any updates on any of them?
