Does anyone know if Gray still has Olympic desires in the javelin? The delay must have created big complications for her.

RE: WVB: Hentz, Gray, Fitzmorris pros - BobK - 06-09-2020

Yes last I heard.

Yes, complications in no longer having a team and coaches to practice with.  Also possibly an advantage to improve her distance if she can somehow work out a practice schedule.  The problem is playing professional volleyball is a full time job.

I think this would be hard to do if she's getting paid to play volleyball on another continent.

Is Plummer playing pro somewhere?

RE: WVB: Hentz, Gray, Fitzmorris pros - BobK - 06-09-2020

For 40 years now one could get paid in one sport then participate in college in another.

The Volleyball season starts in October or so for the Germans.

Plummer played in Italy then the virus.

Interview with Plummer:

Covid-19 lockdown rules in Italy were far more restrictive than in US.

Plans to go back to her Italian team when they start up and also try out for next year's Olympic team.

Not winning an NCAA NC her sophomore year still seems to really get to her.

RE: WVB: Hentz, Gray, Fitzmorris pros - 82 Card - 09-23-2020

Some updates:
Hentz, Gray and Gates are playing for Dresden. However Fitzmorris' contract was cancelled when her injury got worse, requiring surgery. Fitzmorris shows up on the roster of a Ukrainian team. However, I cannot find any indication that she is actually there. I assume she is still recuperating.

Plummer is working on her Japanese, having signed a contract with the Denso Airybees.

That's crazy for someone basically without a professional track record.  I'm a big fan of Plummer, but honestly her passing is not anywhere near a top professional level. It only makes sense to me is if it is a multi-year deal.

Are multi-year contracts ever done? Logan Tom played for 18 clubs in 18 years. [https://women.volleybox.net/logan-tom-p1774/clubs]

Does anyone know where we can watch these games? I watch the Euro League for basketball on Youtube but I can never find recent games of Euro Volleyball.

The 3 sets or whatever they call them were close (23:25, 25:27, 21:25) . Madeline scored 11 points and the writer complimented the good connection between Jenna and Gates. Jenna was subbed out early in the 3rd set, and it does not appear from the article that Morgan played.

RE: WVB: Hentz, Gray, Fitzmorris pros - BobK - 09-30-2020

Those who watched said morgan did play

RE: WVB: Hentz, Gray, Fitzmorris pros - oldalum - 09-30-2020

Thanks for the correction! I should have written, the article did not mention Morgan.
Would be great if someone who watched could tell us how!

RE: WVB: Hentz, Gray, Fitzmorris pros - BACardinal - 10-01-2020

A little off topic but linked below is a game of Merete Lutz. She played backcourt as well and had some decent passes, although there were only a couple. I had a smile on my face the whole time watching because she seemed to be having fun and her game has definitely progressed from her time at Stanford. Always good to see Stanford players in the pros.
