If garvin disappears from the board, Â don\'t panic - Redrum - 03-28-2011
He won\'t be slitting his wrists over women\'s basketball or parachuting into Cuba to zero out Fidel Castro.
Nope. Â You\'ll find him in front of the television in the fetal position, cooing "My precious. Â My precious." Â Â And ON the TV will be the object of his obsession, Â his pole star, Â his reason for being: Â Dana Delany, is back, babies! Â This time she\'s a tough medical examiner in ABC\'s "Body of Proof". Â Â I guess the proof in question is that any TV show formula that proves successful will be repeated until it is completely worn out. Â But, if it works for Emily Deschanel in
Bones, the logic is it will work for Dana, (who does look quite fetching in the promo photos). Â Other than that, Â it\'s got the same formulaic team, but bigger. You know: Â the geeky lab guy, the other other babe (who kinda looks like former Borg babe Jeri Ryan), the tough field-savvy investigator...you know the drill. Â I\'ll leave it to garvin, Â when he regains consciousness, Â to tell us whether the Body is better than Bones. Â But I definitely smell a promo junket in garvin\'s future.

Ooooh, more details. It IS Jeri Ryan - Redrum - 03-28-2011
Who has to have, like, the creepiest real-life back story ever, having her Illinois governor husband taking her for shared whoopee at private sex clubs. Yikes. Jeri gets a new show where she doesn\'t have to act like she\'s a lobotomized robot, and creepo husband does hard time in Illinois prison.
I just LOVE television promo lingo. Check out the blurb for the detective.
"A hardheaded, straight-shooting veteran of the Philadelphia Homicide Division. He fights for justice on the streets of Philly while fighting a personal battle at home. Boy, we\'ve never seen THAT character ever before.
But here\'s the Wikipedia entry for the main characters:
Main characters
Dana Delany as Dr. Megan Hunt
Former Neurosurgeon and now Medical Examiner. Megan Hunt was a brilliant world class neurosurgeon until a life-changing car accident prevented her from continuing to work in the operating room. Now she uses her vast medical knowledge and investigative instincts to solve the medical mysteries of the dead and bring those responsible for their deaths to justice.
Nicholas Bishop as Peter Dunlap
Former Police Officer and now Medicolegal Investigator. After a gunshot ripped through his shoulder during a convenience store robbery, Peter found himself off the streets and inside a rehab facility. As partner and confidant to Dr. Megan Hunt, Peter now finds himself investigating Philadelphia\'s most mysterious medical cases alongside one of the most brilliant Medical Examiners in the country.
Jeri Ryan as Dr. Kate Murphy
Chief Medical Examiner. First female Chief Medical Examiner in Philadelphia\'s History.
John Carroll Lynch as Detective Bud Morris
Homicide Detective. A hardheaded, straight-shooting veteran of the Philadelphia Homicide Division. He fights for justice on the streets of Philly while fighting a personal battle at home: mending a crumbling relationship with his wife who just kicked him out of their Center City Brownstone.
Sonja Sohn as Detective Samantha Baker
Homicide Detective. Partner Bud Morris, full of energy and very smart. She respects Megan for her straightforwardness and work.
Geoffrey Arend as Dr. Ethan Gross
Forensic Pathology Fellow. Ethan now finds himself as the youngest and most enthusiastic fellow working at the Medical Examiner\'s Office.
Windell Middlebrooks as Dr. Curtis Brumfield
Deputy Chief Medical Examiner. Curtis is a capable and intelligent Medical Examiner whose bluster belies his love for his job.

Tim Goodman of the Hollywood Reporter (run in SF Chron) likes it.
http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2011/03/25/DDQU1IH61H.DTL
Based on his positive review, I can only assume that Garvin is ready to proclaim it the best show on television and run it on a continuous loop on some creepy fan-page blog.
Cheers,
Pete F.

Hey! Let me get Dana into a wind tunnel... - Redrum - 03-28-2011
..and then shine a 1000 candlepower light in her eyes. THEN let\'s do the Uma/Dana comparison.
This whole Dana/Uma thing got so out of hand so early. It started with my review of
The Avengers movie which featured Uma in a leather catsuit. IIRC correctly, I said Uma in a leather catsuit was the
only good thing about the movie. Next thing you know garvin is off on a riff about big noses and it\'s been Sunnis vs. Shiites ever since.
The fact is, I am the moderate in this debate. I confess that I am a brunette kind of guy. I find Dana very attractive. The kink and nudity in
Exit to Eden certainly didn\'t hurt. But artistically
China Beach was her high water mark. I link her "filmography" here. Check it out.
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001127/ . She is an attractive, engaging actress who has made a good career in as a TV appearance and short-lived series lead actress. Good on her. I\'d love to take her to dinner and slam the limo door in garvin\'s face as we drove off laughing.
But Uma has followed a different path. Primarily in movies, with the
Kill Bill series and
Pulp Fiction as real blockbusters. And when it comes to sin, she sees Dana\'s artful
Exit to Eden and raises it a
Henry and June. I\'d love to take her to dinner and slam the limo door in garvin\'s face as we drove off laughing.
Win/win for me.

Misread completely, oh webmistress - Redrum - 03-29-2011
The SUBJECT of the
leadoff post wasn\'t  Dana vs. Uma.  The subject was
Garvin & his obsession and how he was about to get another helping of Dana. Â The show looks rather derivative of existing shows, Â but that\'s TV copycat culture, not Dana\'s fault.
The followup post was in response to Lefty\'s set of pointedly unfair photos comparing the two. Â I\'ve never ragged on Dana. Â Simply responded to garvin\'s ceaseless antipathy towards Uma. Â The whole Dana/ Uma thing has been fun. Â Hey, we\'ve gotten lots of mileage out of this thing, Â so why stop now? Â Just fight fair.
